Viet Nam GEF Steering Committee
1. Organization Structure
Minister of Natural Resources and Environment has signed Decision No.2346/QD-BTNMT dated 07/12/2009 on the establishment Steering Committee of the Viet Nam Global Environment Facility, replacing Decision No.1313/QD-BTNMT dated 23/09/2003 on the establishment of the Executive Board of the Viet Nam Global Environment Facility.
To be suitable for the new situation, on 03/09/2015, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment has signed Decision No.2237/QD-BTNMT on strenthening the Steering Committee of the Viet Nam Global Environment Facility. Viet Nam GEF Steering Committee headed by the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and includes 18 members who are leaders of departments of Natural Resources and Environment Ministry and other relevant ministries, including the State Bank of Vietnam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Viet Nam GEF Operational Focal Point is the Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
2. Regulation on the organization and operation
Steering Committee for the Viet Nam Global Environment Facility shall assist Minister of Natural Resources and Environment in implementing the rights and obligations of Vietnam in the GEF Assembly, GEF Council, implementing international cooperation activities with the GEF, GEF participants and directing implementation of GEF activities in Vietnam.
